About Velastra
As a lifelong stargazer, Velastra's founder spent countless evenings mapping constellations, sketching star patterns, and imagining how those lights might translate into something tangible. Her first pieces were simple—delicate rings bejeweled with tiny starbursts and pendants inspired by familiar constellations.

Customers quickly fell in love with the idea of wearing something celestial. Messages poured in from people who chose pieces to represent meaningful moments: a star pendant to remind them of a loved one far away, a constellation visible on the night they met someone special, or a ring that symbolized finding their own guiding light.

This Etsy shop grew commercial, and Velastra turned to me for guidance on logo and branding, inspired by the stars but keeping an elegant feel.

Mood Board
Before any design work, a moodboard was carefully crafted to inspire design decisions. Included was celestial imagery, product shots, and inspiration from the jewelry sector.

Logo Iterations
In my iterations pitched to the client, it was determined that subtlety was preferred. While certain logo options shouted 'stars', the client preferred something with quiet elegance. She felt the jewelry would speak for itself and instead prefered the above logo, which includes a nod to Velastra's hero product, a pendant necklace.
